They have the ability of producing such documents in a photographic nature. This is why press companies prefer using them. However, the inkjet devices are quite costly as compared to matrix and laser devices.

There are various advantages that come with automated press devices. Those working in busy offices save time since they are mostly quick in production of documents. They are also economical in press working since they do use less resources for example less ink. Various materials can be pressed on for example manila papers and clothing in textile industry. Most professional press companies such as book publishing do prefer using automated devices in press work.

Documents produced by a digital printer that is automated have a range of ways that can be protected and preserved for long. Lamination and ink choice area are used to suit the preservation of documents. These are used in finishing and protection of pressed photos. Environmental factors such as dust, heat and moisture are kept at bay. Automatic press devices allow for changing of dye to suit images. Retouching and manipulation of documents are some of the services press devices perform using programs like Adobe Photoshop.
