When it comes to getting better search engine rankings and also a better page rank, everything about your website will count. I am certain you already know that you have to have your website targeted with particular keywords. You probably also know that developing links to your site will also be able to help you increase your search engine rankings along with your pagerank. There is however an additional factor that many people never think about about their site and their ranking.

Google's algorithm makes use of many different factors to decide page positioning, but nobody has learned all of them, however some are known. And one of these items that individuals know is that who you link to may either help or hurt your pagerank with Google along with your rankings in the search engines. One thing you should comprehend is that if you've got a link to a website that Google has banned you will recognize that this is a bad thing. By linking to a website, Google feels that you think that it is a beneficial web page that folks would want to check out, however if Google has banned this web page, this will count as a strike against your site. Now you will see that Google, having already banned the one site may take your website and remove it from their results, or maybe worse they might end up banning your site as well.

Nevertheless this in addition works the other way around. I tested this principle to find out how much of a difference it can make to link to these good sites. Every time I added a good link to a website that Google likes, I discovered that in a brief amount of time my website would receive better rankings. In some cases this was pages and from time to time I would go from number 10 on page 1, to around 3 and 5 on page 1.

One way I would complete this would be to put a You Tube video to my site. Adding a You Tube video is actually a thing that helps your site in two ways, first Google loves sites with video and second of all you will end up setting up a link that points to You Tube. Another thing you might do is to simply add a direct link right back to Google's home page. If you add these things to your Internet sites, within a week or so you should notice a boost in your search rankings.

Once again, you also need to be mindful who you link to. Before swapping links with any website it is a good idea to check on Google to discover if the website that wants to trade links is listed in Google to begin with. The website itself may have been banned from the Google search engine, which is precisely why it is not indexed. Needless to say this isn't always the case, it may merely be a brand new site that is just not listed yet. In any event the link won't be doing you any good so don't exchange links with websites that are not listed in Google.
