Augmented Reality Defense And Virtual Reality

By Jason Cole

When it comes to war games, virtual reality is now taking on themes which relate to past world events. For example, Front Defense is an augmented reality defense game based on, and puts players in the middle of, World War II. As such, it is important that those planning on playing this game understand that is more graphic and violent than most.

During the initial stages of the game, the invasion involving Normandy is over and firefights have just started in a fictional European town. At which point, Front Defense puts the player, an Allied Forces hero in the middle of the action to fight off ongoing attacks. While it is a minor battle at first, the action intensifies over the course of the game.

Very realistic in style and scope, the game allows the player to hide out behind various well armed and patrolled positions while ducking, diving, switching and reloading weapons. The weapons include everything from grenades to man-mounted guns and assault rifles. For, when it comes to defeating the enemy, players often need help from as many different resources as possible.

Created by some of the best developers and designers, the game provides the heaviest weaponry possible, reflecting the reality of World War II. As with war, the game uses precision, VR, battlefield and room scaling to provide realistic scenes which have been known to leave players feeling like active members of a unit during the war. For, the main priority behind Front Defense was to leave players feeling as if one were actually at war.

In fact, Front Defense is one of the most active, intense and realistic war games on the market. For, the experience and intensity of the WWII shooter is the first VR to use room scaling and precision tracking. As such, it allows the player to create strategic positions which are detailed by a European town which has been taken over and is being destroyed by enemy forces.

Being able to use a variety of weapons creates a situation in which the player must act on both knowledge and instinct. For, the player can choose to use armored cars, dive bombers and tanks in an effort to defeat opposing forces. Most players actually find the finale to be one of the most dramatic of any previous first shooter war games. In fact, many suggest that the finale is nothing less than climatic in comparison.

While first shooter games have been controversial for quite some time, when played as intended, these games can often deter rather than create violent behavior. For, many individuals now use these games as a method of stress release. Still, it is important that those under 18 be supervised and monitored when it comes to playing the game or acting out different scenes.

Front Defense is Windows based starting with Windows release 7 and subsequent releases. It is important to note that the game is not compatible with any release up and until Windows 7. When it comes to graphics, the game has a NVIDIA graphics interface with 12GM RAM, thus providing some of the most colorful, detailed and dramatic scenes in the VR first shooter market.
